English Note
In this critical essay, Masamune Hakucho sets aside the inherited authority of the Analects and the Bible and judges their teachings by ordinary human experience. With skepticism, irony, and humor, he challenges the worship of sages and examines passages from the Sermon on the Mount and Confucius.
