Introduction
楠山正雄による昔話。桃から生まれた桃太郎が、犬・猿・きじを連れて鬼が島へ向かう、日本でもっともよく知られる民話の一つ。『桃太郎』は、1925年発表の大正期の童話として、童話のかたちに潜む倫理と想像力を本文の細部からたどれる作品です。比較的読み進めやすい文体ながら、語彙や表現には時代ごとの味わいがあります。新字新仮名の表記で、現代の字形と仮名遣いにより読み進めやすい本文です。一章分の読書時間で作品全体を見渡しやすく、文ごとの精読にも向いています。
